Well well well, how things change!!
Me, a former weight trainer, now doing spinning- well a lot of my friends are very surprised!! So am I actually - am enjoying it a lot, and what with the cycle training each week too I am feeling a lot more motivated and fitter- although its only my second spin session!
I do suffer with the first 20 mins tho, the lat 40 is a breeze, well in comparison at least! The first 20 mins has me blowing out my ass!!!
Well as you might have seen from my pics, I recently did a 36 mile charity bike ride with my gym buddy Scott! We did no more than 3 or 4 hour long rides on exercise bikes at the gym and did one real road ride each of about 30 miles.
The actual charity ride itself, Cycle for Life in aid of Farleigh Hospice, was a doddle and we had no issue in despatching it in under 2 and a half hours. I myself did it in 2hrs 20 mins, and I think if I pushed harder I could have done it 15 minutes quicker as I really only went for it for the last 12 miles.
Anyway, we have the bug now and have signed up for London to Paris 2009 in aid of Action Medical Research. You will hear more about this ride in due course. We will of course be riding for Team YourGymBuddy and will be looking for additional corporate sponsors.
Training has started in the form for me of a 36 mile ride on Sunday, which I did on two slices of toast and in 2hrs 3mins, just to see what my body can do. I can't believe how much body fat torching this process has started!
Am gradually going to build up training over winter up to the max I will need for the Paris ride, circa 80 miles in a day! Streuth!
Well, it has not been a good experiment so far. I have not been training regularly, hardly doing any cardio and have had the odd period of two or three days not taking the supplements here and there.
This means:
(a) my experiment is not reliable
(b) i have loads of supplement left.
Anyways, here is a progress photo showing how I have got on so far. I think not too bad ...
Well first day on the stack and all feels well and good. No bloating, nausea or anything, and the orange flavour tastes great!
Am hungrier than usual but put that down to the mid morning and mid afternoon shakes keeping the metabolism burning away.
OK so the 6 pack stack arrived yesterday. It comprises of:
- 3 tubs of Cyclone (I went for orange flavour)
- one tube of Thermobol
- one tub of Maxi EFA
I will be having:
- two servings of Cyclone per day, mid morning and post workout (mid afternoon on rest days),
- three capsules of Thermobol, breakfast, lunch and dinner
- four capsules of Maxi EFA, breakfast, lunch, dinner and bed time
Started today off with 2 eggs on 2 wholemeal toast for breakfast, and have done my 'before' photos which are attached to this post!
The things I do for YGB! Well not entirely selfless as you will see, but nevertheless a commitment if this experiment is to be serious.
You will have seen the Maximuscle advertising on this site. I have decided to put their '6 pack stack' to the test, to see what impact it can have on my physique over the next 5 weeks. There is nothing in this for me from Maximuscle so what I will be doing is giving you a full and frank account of how the experiment goes!
I will post a 'before' picture tonight, and hopefully my products will arrive on Thursday or Friday so I can kick the experiment off.
You will see my current levels of muscle and body fat from the photos later, but I am severely hampered in the cardio stakes as I am still recovering from an ACL reconstruction, on top of which I fell on the operated knee quite severely a couple of weeks ago which has set me back about a month in terms of recovery. So I will be very carefully watching my diet too.
I said this wasn't an entirely selfless experiment, hopefully I will come away from it with a cracking physique!
